Every year, Coginchaug DECA members are asked to complete the membership survey to gain valuable insights into who are DECA members are, what they have accomplished, and the direction they feel the club should go in future years.
This year's membership survey results are filled with so many extraordinary accomplishments. Although this school year ended abruptly, due to the covid-19 pandemic, our members were truly able to pack this year full of incredible feats.

Coginchaug DECA has their very first national winners!
Carolyn Cummello, Micala Fontanella, Justin Penney, Atalie Sweet, and Nick Vestergaard were selected first place in the national DECA and AT&T Laterhaters campaign.
This challenge, created by DECA Inc. and AT&T, was designed to promote and amplify the Later Haters movement. Students participating in the challenge completed tasks designed to raise awareness and prevent cyberbullying in participants’ respective schools and communities. The tasks included:
AT&T employees reviewed the submissions and selected the top three entries. Each of the top three winning teams was to be recognized on stage at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in April in Nashville, Tennessee, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, the event was canceled.
Coginchaug DECA Raises $1816 for JDRF
On Saturday October 19th, Coginchaug DECA members attended the JDRF One Walk at Hammonasset State Beach in Madison, CT.
The students spent the previous two weeks fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Their fundraising efforts totaled $1,816, surpassing their goal of $1,500.
The JDRF Mission is to acceelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes and its complications.
