Coginchaug DECA Members Compete at 2019 ICDC in Orlando
Coginchaug DECA members traveled to Orlando, Fl to compete in the 2019 DECA International Career Development Conference from April 26th - May 1st.
Three members, Micala Fontanella, Atalie Sweet, and Kiyah Reynolds all particpated in the Thrive Leadership Academy.
Five members, Bryce Fleck, Cole Niedmann, Brandon Hayward, Andrew Morro, and Carolyn Cumello each competed in different events. All five competitors were awarded an Award of Excellence in recognition of achieving all standards of performance in their competitive events.
Coginchaug DECA students raise over $1100 for JDRF
Despite the rain, Coginchaug DECA students participated in the JDRF One Walk this past Sunday at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Throughout the week leading up to the walk, students collected donations in homeroom, during lunches, through the teacher jeans Friday donations, and online. They raised just over $1100 for the cause.

DECA Members are Motivated for the Future. DECA members say their experience prepared them academically for college and career (88%), influenced their college plans (68%), influenced their career plans (75%) and influenced their interest in entrepreneurship and owning a business (61%).
